At West Calder High School, we are committed to providing the highest quality learning, teaching and assessment for all young people. This policy reflects our strong belief that excellent learning and teaching are at the heart of a successful school. Built through collaboration with staff and pupils, and informed by current educational research, it outlines clear, consistent approaches to classroom practice across the school.

Pupils are encouraged to contribute their views and play an active role in shaping their learning, ensuring their voices are heard and valued.
Our "Well P.A.C.E.D." learning model provides a shared framework for high-quality lessons, focusing on clear purpose, active engagement, appropriate challenge and opportunities for learners to demonstrate their understanding.
