Senior Phase Courses

At WCHS we offer students the chance to study French, German, Spanish and Mandarin (not beginners) at N4, N5, H and AH level. All levels of the National Qualifications work through four main contexts: Society, Culture, Learning and Employability and seek to enhance students' skills for life, learning and work.  

Students will continue to develop their advanced literacy skills through Reading, Writing, Listening and Talking, with Translation being introduced in the Higher and Advanced Higher courses.

As in the BGE, our main purpose in language learning at WCHS is to: 

• highlight the value of language skills in life and work. 

• help widen their knowledge of other cultures and traditions. 

• increase confidence and enjoyment in literacy and language learning skills.
