S2 Creative Textiles

In S2 pupils will develop skills in hand and machine sewing. This will be demonstrated through an embroidery project where pupils will master basic skills. As we progress, pupils will further develop skills in using sewing machines and embellishing with beadwork.  

S3 Fashion & Textile Technology

In S3, pupils will work through the NPA Costume: An Introduction to Cutting, Sewing and Surface Decoration. Pupils will further develop skills in embellishment (applique, embroidery and beadwork) and will be able to demonstrate this on a final garment. Pupils will learn about pattern construction and use patterns to further develop sewing machine skills. 

S3 Early Learning and Childcare

In S3 pupils will develop an understanding of the theory relating to the care and feeding of children, and focus on the development and wellbeing of children and young people. This work will contribute to their National 5 award should they continue with the subject into S4.

S3 presented in S4 - NPA Long Hair with Makeup Design

The main objectives of the qualification is to develop understanding and basic skills in the areas of Long Hair Design with Make-Up. The NPA in Long Hair Design with Make-Up developed at SCQF level 5 will enable candidates to develop the basic skills required to seek employment at trainee level in the Hairdressing and Beauty industry, provide candidates with a broad introduction to these skills, enable candidates to progress to work based qualifications within the sector and the completion of National Occupational Standards and/or prepare candidates to progress to further study.
