S4 N5 Fashion & Textile Technology 

In S4 pupils will work to achieve the N5 in Fashion and Textile Technology. This includes a practical project which pupils will complete independently having developed the necessary skills. Pupils will also complete a market research project to meet a given brief and there is a final exam of 1 hour which comprises 30 marks.

S4 N5 Early Learning & Childcare

In S4 pupils will work towards achieving the N5 Early Learning and Childcare qualification. This will include a revisit of Care and Feeding, and Child Development and Wellbeing in addition to the Working in Childcare and Play units. 

S5/6 H Fashion & Textile Technology 

In S5/6 pupils will work to achieve the H in Fashion and Textile Technology. This includes a practical project which pupils will complete independently having developed the necessary skills. Pupils will also complete a market research project to meet a given brief and there is a final exam of 1.5 hour which comprises 45 marks.

S6 Higher Beauty

This Higher Skills for Work Beauty course has been designed to provide an introductory beauty qualification, which reflects the skills required by the beauty industry. Learners will acquire subject specific knowledge and experience as well as develop skills which are transferable to other employment areas. Practical experience of communication and customer care skills is included. Specific skills in cleansing, toning, moisturising, basic face massage, masque application and removal, skin warming, exfoliation, nail shaping, cuticle care, hand massage, nail painting and basic makeup application techniques are developed. Current make-up trends are identified from a variety of sources, with learners having the opportunity to experiment to produce a 'look' which reflects these trends.
